To promote musical culture in Torrevieja: sustain a symphonic season of quality, train the musicians coming up through the ranks and bring great music to every audience.
The Torrevieja Symphony Orchestra began in 2008 as a project of the Ars Aetheria Music and Culture Association. Over more than fifteen years it has played the theatres and auditoriums of Alicante and Murcia, and hundreds of musicians and internationally renowned soloists have passed through its music stands.
Today it sustains a stable subscription season at the Torrevieja International Auditorium, with more than 350 subscribers, guest conductors and first-rate soloists. Its concertmaster is Antonio García Egea, recommended by Plácido Domingo. Training the musicians of the future is the job of the Torrevieja Youth Symphony Orchestra (JOST), founded in 2010 and conducted since 2011 by Adolfo Arronis Ruiz.
