Torrevieja Youth Symphony Orchestra

Since 2010, the seedbed of musicians giving symphonic music a future in Torrevieja.

What the JOST is

Train today, play tomorrow

The Torrevieja Youth Symphony Orchestra was created to give young players and aspiring musicians a place to train, so that in time they can join the Symphony Orchestra.

It started in 2010 under José Francisco Sánchez, with a debut concert at the Palacio de la Música on 10 July. In 2011 its current conductor, Adolfo Arronis Ruiz, took over.

Growth

From empty hall to full house

At the first concerts the audience was little more than the musicians’ parents and relatives. Today they fill the hall at every concert, and sometimes a second performance is needed.

The orchestra has developed a full symphonic repertoire, with works by Bartók and Santiago Quinto and film scores such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter and Gladiator.
